V1004SW.STONEWARETOBACPOUCH.X Scarce and attractive 'tobacco pouch' saltglaze stoneware pocket flask.  Attractive daisy pattern on both faces, with overlapping cover and strap inserted through applied tab. Pleasing overall light buff colour. Possibly Lambeth manufacture. c1840. Very good, just has some minor in-manufacture clay-splits along parts of the top edge, a small (4mm x 15mm) shallow flake/sliver also on the top edge (although hard to spot), a very small (2mm x 5mm) shallow flake also on the top edge and a smallish (4mm x 7mm) chip on the bottom edge (along with a totally insignificant corner rub). 5 1/2"high, 3 1/2"x 1 2/5"diameter    £275
