T0414SW.DWIGHT.M   Totally classic totally Dwight form brown saltglaze stoneware baluster form handled jug bottle in first English Bellarmine style c1690/1700. Good mid brown speckled tigerglaze body on small rough edged foot, wirecut base, pleasing baluster body swooping into proportional tapering neck topped with typical multi cordoned lip. Large arched handle with long tailpiece and thumb inprint, well formed into body and neck. Minor glaze nibbles around rough base edge. three isolated kiln touchmarks one side and onwe larger but still insignificant touchmark to other side, one glaze chip to upper lip one side and shallow chip to top and nibble below on other side, shallow flake to underside base edge, all totally insignificant and this is one of the best condition Dwight examples Ive seen.   8 7/8"high, 5"diameter   £ sold
