V0515.NAILSEAFLAGONGREEN.M Fabulous large (10.25") Nailsea handled freeblown bottle in a lovely light olive green colour with white enamelled speckled flecks. Flat base with blowpipe pontil. Outward tapering bucket shape body to deep rounded shoulders. Short wide-based tapering neck topped with double-tooled conical conjoined lip and stringrim. Bold arched handle fairly crudely applied to neck and shoulder (and even side of lip) with short rolled back tail at bottom. Full original surface sheen. Nicely spread pattern of speckling of small and middle sized spots, then striating into neck. Rare to see an example like this without damage. Provenance Sticker on bottom reads 'American Glass gallery' (with a number '87' in red) ** From the Michael Burke (Bermuda) collection ** c1840.
